STEWARDSHIP FORUM 2010: INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF BIODIVERSITY
The Annual Stewardship Forum occurred on June 8th, 2010 at Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto. There were 57 people in attendance including a stellar line up of speakers and members of the SNO Leadership Team.
This annual event affords SNO the opportunity to report back to our community on our activities. We would like to share the results of our Forum in this report. In the report you will find the Power Point presentations given by the speakers as well as a 2010 participant contact list.
We hope to see you all at our Forum in 2011!

The Stewardship Network of Ontario collaborates with organizations in the province to enhance stewardship programs to benefit landowners in Ontario. Our work is guided by the Stewardship Strategy for Ontario, and if you visit the pages behind the "About SNO" tab, you will get an appreciation for what we do.
The United Nations proclaimed 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity and people all over the world are working to protect and conserve the world's biodiversity. This is the year to celebrate the vast wealth of biodiversity on our planet!

Garlic Mustard Significant Impact on Our Forests
This familiar invasive species has recently been shown to have a mechanism for invading our woodlots that has a greater impact than previously known. It slows the growth of native trees to one-tenth, as well as reducing regeneration, by harming soil fungus that the hardwoods depend upon. One of the authors of this international research is Stuart Campbell from the University of Guelph.
